Class Heatmaps

Tracking student performance visually across all topics.

Navigate to Class Heatmaps (/teacher/heatmaps) in the sidebar to view the heatmap index page. Select a specific subject to drill down into the data.

Understanding the Heatmap

The heatmap is a visual, colour-coded grid showing how every student in your class is performing across all topics for the selected subject:

  • Green cells indicate mastered topics.
  • Yellow cells indicate topics in progress.
  • Red cells indicate struggling students who may need intervention.

Heatmap Action Panel

When you select a cell or a student on the heatmap, the Action Panel appears, giving you contextual options:

  • View the specific quiz attempts and scores that resulted in the current status.
  • Flag for Intervention: If you spot a student who is consistently struggling (e.g., a row of red cells), you can flag them. This creates a review entry visible in your Reviews queue for follow-up.
