Content Approval Workflow

If you have the Content Approval Workflow enabled in your Settings:

1. Navigate to Content Approval (/admin/content-approval) in the sidebar.
2. You will see items submitted by teachers marked "Pending Review", separated into tabs for Lesson Notes and Quiz Banks.
3. Note: Teachers cannot generate a Quiz Bank until the underlying Lesson Note has been approved.
4. Click Review on an item to inspect its content.
5. Approve: The content instantly becomes visible to students (and unlocks Quiz Bank generation if it was a Lesson Note).
6. Reject: The content is sent back to the teacher for revision with your feedback notes.

If the Content Approval Workflow is disabled, this page will be empty as all content goes live automatically. Note: There is also an alternate content view at /admin/content.

Curriculum Alignment Flags

The platform includes an automatic AI curriculum validation layer. After a teacher generates a lesson note, the system runs a secondary check to verify the content is:

• Written at an appropriate vocabulary level for the class (e.g., JSS1 vs SSS3)
• Scoped to the correct NERDC/WAEC curriculum sequence (no leaking of advanced concepts)
• Aligned to the school's chosen exam body standard

If the validator detects major issues, the lesson note is automatically placed in "Pending Review" regardless of whether the Content Approval Workflow is enabled or disabled. These items will appear in your review queue.

When reviewing a flagged note:

• The specific issues detected are listed in an amber warning panel (e.g., "Introduces negative exponents too early for JSS1").
• You can choose to Approve the note if the content is acceptable despite the flags.
• Or Reject it with feedback for the teacher to correct and resubmit.

Tip: The frequency of flagged notes will decrease over time as the curriculum_reference table is populated with more NERDC guidance records for additional subjects and class levels.
