Downloading a Term Backup
Before running a term reset or at the close of each academic term, always download a backup.
- Select the term you wish to archive from the dropdown (First Term, Second Term, or Third Term).
- Click ↓ Download Backup.
- The system batches all data (to avoid timeout issues) and packages the following into a single
.jsonfile:- Term curriculum blocks (
term_curricula) - All topics in that term block
- Lesson notes, quiz banks, and flashcards
- Remediation content
- Student quiz attempts and topic statuses
- Student flashcard progress
- Term curriculum blocks (
- The file will automatically download to your device. Store it securely — it is the only way to recover this term's data if needed.
Restoring a Term from Backup
If you need to recover a term's curriculum and student data from a previously downloaded backup:
- Click the file upload area or drag-and-drop your
.jsonbackup file. - Click ↑ Upload & Overwrite.
- A confirmation dialog will appear warning that all current data for that term will be permanently replaced. This action cannot be undone.
- Confirm to proceed. The system will restore all curriculum blocks, topics, notes, quizzes, flashcards, and student progress from the backup.
Important: Restoring a backup replaces the existing data entirely. Do not restore unless you are certain you want to overwrite the current term's data.
End-of-Term Reset
