School Settings
Configuring the academic calendar, curriculum standards, branding, and term data management.
Navigate to Settings in the sidebar. If you are the Primary Administrator (or a Super Admin), you will see the full settings panel. Non-primary admins will only see their personal security settings.
Academic Calendar
- Set the Current Academic Session (e.g., "2025/2026").
- Set the Current Term (First Term, Second Term, Third Term).
- Set Term Start Date and Term End Date.
- Changes are visible across all portals instantly.
School Information
- Set your School Type (Primary, Secondary, or Mixed).
- Set your Curriculum / Exam Body Standard — choose from WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, Cambridge IGCSE, or NERDC Standard. This tells the AI which national curriculum framework to align all generated lesson notes, quiz banks, and flashcards with. This setting directly affects the quality and appropriateness of all AI-generated content across the school.
Workflow Settings — Content Approval
This is a critical toggle:
- When enabled: All AI-generated lesson notes and quiz banks submitted by teachers must be reviewed and approved by you before they become visible to students. Teachers cannot generate a Quiz Bank until the underlying Lesson Note has been approved.
- When disabled: Teacher-generated content goes live immediately without requiring your review. This is the default state for new schools.
Note: Regardless of this toggle, lesson notes flagged as having major curriculum alignment issues by the automatic AI validation layer are always placed in "Pending Review" and will appear in your Content Approval queue.
School Branding
- Customize your school's Logo, Primary Colour, and Secondary Colour. These colours are applied across the entire platform including the login page.
Security & Audit Logs
- View a chronological record of sensitive actions (logins, data changes, etc.) for NDPR compliance.
Personal Security
- Change your own PIN or Password.
Term Data Management
This section provides tools for term archiving, data restoration, and end-of-term administration.
Downloading a Backup:
- Select the term you wish to back up from the dropdown.
- Click ↓ Download Backup. The system will package all curriculum blocks, topics, lesson notes, quiz banks, flashcards, remediation content, and student progress records into a
.jsonarchive file. - Store this file securely offline. You can use it to restore all data later.
Uploading & Restoring a Backup:
- Select the
.jsonbackup file from your device. - Click ↑ Upload & Overwrite. A confirmation warning will appear explaining that existing data for the term will be permanently replaced.
- Confirm to proceed. All curriculum and student progress data for that term will be restored from the backup.
End-of-Term Reset (Danger Zone): Use this to officially close out a term and advance the platform to the next term.
- Complete the 5-point pre-reset checklist (review heatmaps, close challenges, save monthly report, confirm promotions, accept reset policy).
- Click Run End-of-Term Reset.
- Type the confirmation phrase displayed (e.g.,
RESET FIRST TERM) in the modal. - Monitor the live progress log as the reset runs.
- On completion, the platform advances to the next term. Student live progress (XP, quiz scores, mastery status, streaks) is reset. All teacher-created lesson notes and quiz banks are preserved.
